For God alone
I wait in the Silence.

Enter this sanctuary time by settling down, becoming quiet, and breathing deeply some breaths. Remind yourself you are in the Presence of Love. This place you are entering, within, is the inner Temple, where you are One with God. You may wish to use a mantra, or prayer phrase, follow the breathing in-and-out, or witness the arising and falling of all around you as the manifestation of universal-God. Enjoy these moments of quietly settling and come out when you are ready.

The symbols of hate against the symbols of love play out a conflict that does not exist. For symbols stand for something else, and the symbol of love is without meaning if love is everything. You will go through this last undoing quite unharmed, and will at last emerge as yourself. This is the last step in the readiness for God. Be not unwilling now; you are too near, and you will cross the bridge in perfect safety, translated quietly from war to peace. For the illusion of love will never satisfy, but its reality, which awaits you on the other side, will give you everything.

The Master was about to die. He called his disciples to gather around him. He asked them if they wanted to say anything to him. They spoke of love for the Master. After he had heard them, he said, “Friends, now you must let go of the last thing thing that you cling to.” Each wondered what this attachment was. One asked, “Master, what is this last thing we cling to?” The Master said, “Love.”

We often hear “love.” Yet, “love” and the Reality is not the same. On our way to Union with the Divine, realized in the Eternal Now, we discern that our idea of Love is not Love. Indeed, we can have no idea of Love, for Love is idea-less.
Symbols, signs, rites, words, … help us to experience something of the idea of “love.” Yet, in the mind we only have an idea of love as contrary to ideas of opposites of love.
If we grow more deeply into the Silence, which is unitive, we find the idea of un-love to dissolve. Still, there is the idea of love. Then, this most esteemed concept dissolves in the Being of God, with our sense of self and separation from the One.
There remains no concept, not even of Love, for only God Is. To wait, then, in the Silence, with open mind-heart, is to wait only for God, for in God is all potentials that become, even Love.
